You Have My Attention

The White House now recognizes the Tea-Party movement as a formidable foe in the upcoming election cycle, and seeks to appeal to the group by claiming they have acted fiscally responsible since Obama took office.

It appears the movement that's been ridiculed and disregarded as a fringe element of American society, has now become a political powerhouse; forcing incumbents such as John McCain to move right, or risk being run over by this conservative momentum.

Moderate republican Charlie Crist in Florida is considering leaving the republican party to run as an independent, while his more conservative opponent Marco Rubio is having much greater success appealing to his constituents; this can all be attributed to the once exiled Tea-Party movement.

Contrary to the dogmatic propaganda in constant rotation on mainstream media outlets, these are by no means simple-minded folk, but their message is very simple: 'if this nation is to be saved, we must seek the wisdom of George Washington, and steer away from the socialistic folly of Carl Marx.' A message that is resonating with the American people, while striking fear into the hearts of politicians on both sides of the isle.

It seems the rallies organized in protest of high taxes and invasive federal policy are no longer "amusing" to this administration; as demonstrated by democrat senatorial incumbent Barbara Boxer when she asked her base to get fired up and show the enthusiasm the Tea- Partiers have.

When asked about Tea-Party protests in an interview on Sunday, Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner said this: "we've just been through eight years where many people said deficits don't matter. We can pass huge tax cuts, pass huge new programs without paying for them. That debate has changed fundamentally." Depicting two important factors: democrats realization of the Tea-Party's political pull, and their constant unwillingness to accept responsibility.

I believe this administration has many Americans reaching for this nation's founding documents, and the fear on display of this patriotic movement has as much to do with an educated electorate, as any other component of the upcoming elections.

So, when in an obvious act of belittling our president says he's amused by the rallies taking place, and that protesters should be thanking him; he is right, we should thank him. We should thank him for the newly found interest Americans have in the rich history of our nation; we should thank him for creating an environment of bi-partisan support for the Tea-Party movement, but most of all we should thank him for re-awakening the American spirit. So, Mr. President.........Thank You.
